All farms in this guide follow one or more of the following practices, designed to work with nature recycling nutrients and using crop rotations to build healthy soils, promoting biodiversity and using no chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, and no genetically engineered organisms.

Join us to celebrate the successful fifth year of the abattoir on Saturday 18th November, from 5:30 pm at Fulford Hall. Come out and support local food, vibrant community and sustainable farming.
Enjoy an all local dinner menu with pork, turkey or vegetarian options, and Jana’s fruit pie for dessert. A cash bar will feature Salt Spring beer, wines, cider and kombucha. Simone Cazabon will be our MC and of course there will be the famous birthday bash silent auction where you can bid on the services of local tradespeople, local produce, and many other things you have always wanted!

Marianne Grittani began performing in the late 60s when she was 14 in Toronto, Ontario. Her music, with so many varied influences defies categorization. She calls it ‘folky, funky and anything in between’. She explores a lot of musical territory, on standard acoustic six string guitar, a resonator guitar and mandolin. Her compelling voice along with her strong sense of rhythm, melody and dynamics weave through and around her lyrics to create an engaging musical tapestry.
