Join chef Danya Smith (Lulu’s Apron) for a delicious farm to table dinner featuring Salt Spring’s famous lamb (fish/vegetarian options available), amongst other local goodies. Canapes, salad, a selection of desserts will have you feasting your eyes and mouths as you enjoy this mid-summer meal in a picturesque setting. Overlooking Stowel Lake and surrounded by the rustic beauty of one of Salt Spring’s original farms, Bev Byron has been raising lambs on this land for almost 60 years and is happy to showcase both her meat and her farm in this abattoir fundraiser. Guests will enjoy a four course meal, have the chance to wander around the farm and enjoy being serenaded by local acoustic musicians.
This meal is not to be missed! Lulu’s Apron (www.facebook.com/lulusapron/) specializes in gourmet catering for groups large and small and is excited to share her selection with us. Danya found her passion for cooking in her Grandma Lulu’s kitchen in Kingston, Jamaica and has been exploring flavours ever since. She graduated with honours from culinary school in Calgary, Alberta, interned with the first female chef to win Top Chef Canada, then moved to Europe to work at a well-known catering company in the south of Germany. Now she’s on Salt Spring Island, bringing her fresh, bold flavours to you.
100% of profits go to helping the local abattoir pay for building improvements.
